Los bandidos de Carlos & Mickey's
The place is amazing. Great ambiance and service. We were seated immediately and served water, tortilla chips and salsa. Salsa has a kick to it which was perfect! We ordered the
- mini flautas con queso - very tasty filled with chicken. chicken and shrimp fajitas, Shrimp and beef fajitas all great! The margaritas were enormous and tasty.
Definitely a must do if in El Paso. -

I was very disappointed with my visit here after getting referrals from my hotel staff.
Pros: great live music, decor, & strong drinks (after 1, you'll need to call an Uber) the staff was friendly but not that attentive
Cons: food was horrible. I ordered fajita nachos
And received a plate of chips with just cheese and steak only. (I requested to have the beans removed) On the side was a bowl of Jalapeños, onions, and CARROTS!!! Who eats carrots with nachos ?!!! no peppers or lettuce/pico/guac included
Overall: I would go for happy hour to drink, I wouldn't suggest food. I may go back to try a different menu item before I completely banish this from my list. -

Came for post-work food and drink. I immediately liked the place because the building itself was so adorable. The decor on the inside was very cozy and quaint/unique. There wasn't a long wait so we were seated pretty quickly.
We all had a Texas size margarita and coincidentally all ordered enchiladas. I had the chicken enchilada with the chile con queso sauce, and mango margarita. The drinks were HUGE and at first I was skeptical at how strong they were, but I stood up to go to the bathroom halfway through my drink and became a believer. I couldn't finish it because I had to drive back, so I let my coworker down the rest of it - he showed up to work the next day fine, so no worries.
My food was honestly just OK. Their salsa is pretty good... a tad too garlicky, but I didn't have to make out with anyone after so no biggie. My enchiladas were nothing to write home about, but surprisingly my most favorite thing on the plate was the refried beans!!! They were well seasoned and the cheese on top added a little oomph to it too. I would come back here for the margs and maybe just the ambiance of the place, but the food was just alright to me. -

Came here today for a luncheon. I got the lunch special which looked like a chicken fired steak. It didn't have a lot of taste like most of their food they usually serve but it pretty good. The "steak" was covered in cheese and was served with fries; who doesn't like anything that's smothered with cheese?! The service was excellent! We had about 30 people in our party and we only waited 14 mins for our meal. I would recommend this to a friend that wanted to do a big party.

This is another iconic El Paso establishment. Los Bandidos de Carlos y Mickey's has been proudly operating for over 75 years. It's a family-owned restaurant, and it's famous for their Texas-sized margaritas.
Service is excellent. Your glass will not go empty, and food comes out rather quickly. Servers are courteous, friendly, and very efficient.
Now, food is not the best IMHO. I'd rather go to one of the smaller establishments (even to one of the hole in a wall places) to be honest. What they lack is some wow factor, I think. Food is not bad, but it's not that great that you say to yourself, "I've got to come back here and get more of this food."
So, why do you come to Carlos and Mickey's?? The answer is because it has great atmosphere, and capacity to offer some private party rooms/sections. Every time I've come here was for some group function.
Parking might be a bit of a challenge especially as the evening goes on. I'd suggest that you go there early enough to find parking space and stay as late as you want to enjoy the company of your family and friends.
We sat in the patio--air was still somewhat cool with breeze on an April evening, but if you had a light jacket, it would be a very nice evening. You should come here with a group and enjoy what Carlos and Mickey's offers!
